Peri-Operative Pain Management

The Honolulu Pain Management Clinic LLC uses peri-operative pain management to provide better conditions for patients before operation, during operation and after operation.

Peri-Operative Pain Management – The peri-operative period is the time period describing the duration of a patient’s surgical procedure; this commonly includes ward admission, anesthesia, surgery, and recovery. Peri-operative generally refers to the three phases of surgery: preoperative, intra-operative, and postoperative. The goal of peri-operative care is to provide better conditions for patients before operation, during operation, and after operation. This period is used to prepare the patient both physically and psychologically for the surgical procedure and after surgery. Peri-operative care may be provided by an anesthesiologist, working with surgical colleagues. [1]
